ATLiens is the second studio album Outkast. It was recorded in several sessions from 1995 to 1996 at Atlanta studios — Bosstown Recording Studios, Doppler Recording Studios, PatchWerk Recording Studio, Purple Dragon Studios, and Studio LaCoCo—as well as Chung King Recording Studio and Sound On Sound Recording in New York City. \n \nSeveral songs on the track list hold account of the duo's very first attempts at producing on their own, inspired by outer-space sounds, dub and gospel. Thematically, the record talks about the urban hustle, existential introspection and a life beyond the Earth translated as alienation by many critics. \n \n
