ART BLAKEY & THE JAZZ MESSENGERS - MOANIN'

Recorded in 1958 for the Blue Note label and released in 1959, Moanin' is a jazz album by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. The LP was originally self-titled, but the opening track Maonin' by pianist Bobby Timmons led the album to be titled as it is in the present day. The record also marked Art Blakey's return to Blue Note after several years.
