Unknown Pleasures is Joy Division's debut album and was released on 15 June 1979. The album was recorded at Stockport's Strawberry Studios in April 1979. The cover artwork was designed by artist Peter Saville, and uses a data plot of signals from a radio pulsar. Unknown Pleasures is the only album which features Ian Curtis before the singer's demise.
