Every great album holds stories. Liner Notes is our in-store series where artists walk us through their own records — not just the sound, but the moments, memories, and ideas behind each track. It’s about slowing down and listening with more intention.
On July 24th, Tarun Balani joins us to share his new album ڪڏهن ملنداسين (Kadahin Milandaasin). It’s a personal reflection on home, memory, and identity.
The title translates to When Will We Meet? The album is rooted in Tarun’s Sindhi heritage, inspired by his grandfather’s journey during Partition. It blends the emotion of folk traditions with the openness of modern jazz. The result is music that feels honest, human, and deeply connected to where he comes from.
We’ll listen to tracks from Kadahin Milandaasin on vinyl. Alongside that, Tarun will play a selection of records from OTJF’s collection, sounds that have influenced and shaped his own sonic landscape.

Reservations & Arrival:
• Reservations are held for 15 minutes past the scheduled time. Late arrivals may result in reduced seating time or forfeiture of the reservation.
Seating Policy:
• Reservations are for the bar area only and cannot be combined with other reservations or walk-in parties.
Parking & Transportation:
• Street parking and valet service are limited. We strongly encourage guests to use taxi or rideshare drop-offs for the easiest and quickest arrival.
• Limited street parking around the Museum as well as paid self-parking is available in the building next door.

Behavior & Service:
• We reserve the right to refuse service or entry to guests who appear intoxicated or behave in a disruptive manner.
Safety and Security:
• All guests may be subject to security checks upon entry.
• The venue is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.
Photography and Recording:
• The event may be photographed and recorded by the organizers for promotional purposes.
Cancellation and Changes:
• The organizers reserve the right to cancel, change the venue or reschedule the event in case of unforeseen circumstances.
• In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be issued to ticket holders.
Liability:
• The organizers and the venue are not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur during the event.
Miscellaneous:
• By purchasing a ticket, the ticket holder agrees to these terms and conditions.
