The late great Nina Simone said, “It is an artists responsibility to reflect the current times”. This week we uncover the sounds of blackness and in particular, Black Freedom Music that’s helped carry an entire people through the injustices they face on a regular basis. An ode to all things black - we travel through time exploring jazz, hip hop, reggae, rap and R&B and learning about the roots of rhythm. With our selection, take some time out to educate yourself on a vibrant culture that teaches us how to stand up for ourselves, have a sense of community and to fiercely love ourselves and those around us.
