#OTJFGuestPlaylist this week invites 23 year old Visual Artist Sachin Bhatt to dial us into what he’s listening to while he taps into the imaginary world inside his head.
The young creative works on stunning pieces for the likes of Kiefer, Brainfeeder Records, DIVINE, Plini, Hiatus Kaiyote, Javed Akhtar; a canon that is an extension of himself, reflective of his exploration of strange and nostalgic moments in his life.
With an avid interest in World history, Pop culture and observing human interaction; his pieces invoke a sense of curiosity and surprise wrapped in a cocoon of familiarity.Whilst the artist is well-known for the visual identity behind Neon East Fest, an international festival showcasing Mura Masa, Little Dragon, JBABE, etc; he also spends time making R&B and Pop music, collecting Pokémon Cards, Figurines, Books, Comics and tending to his garden.
His playlist, helpfully named ‘Songs That Sound Good” is his admiration of clever music regardless of its underground status.
Carly Rae Jepsen, Blue Oyster Cult, Claire Laffut, Solange, Fugazi, A.R Rahman, Grimes, Styx, Blood Orange and many more hold a place in this curation.
